In 2002, my freelance studio, Simpletype, created and sold experimental typefaces. To promote and test them, I launched PT, a mini magazine named after the numeric measurement used for typesetting. In PT, I featured my fonts, using self-initiated art and design. Issue No. 3 showcased "Table," a bitmap font based on a simple square grid. I created all the art, presenting it as an abstract, tongue-in-cheek piece. The 8x8" magazine was digitally printed and saddle-stitched. I mailed it to creative studios worldwide, hoping they would buy the font or hire me. Some surprisingly did.
