Project Type
The objective of this project was to create a three-dimensional alphabet that would serve as the basis for a two-dimensional digital font as well. After a series of explorations with various materials and methods, I decided to create an alphabet comprised of playable mazes. Inspiration for these custom-made letterforms was drawn from the grid system apparent here in Chicago. These letters were assembled through layers of laser-cut acrylic, with a single bead trapped in each maze, adding an element of interactivity to the tangible typeface.
