A commission for eight typographic panels to cover four floors of an apartment building in Chicago. Carlton Terrace Apartments, originally built in the 1920s and acquired and renovated by Mercy Housing, provides safe, quality, low-income housing and affordable resident services for those in need.

Words and phrases were chosen in collaboration with the residents and staff, and legibility and abstraction were explored for these designs.
