Project Type
Created while an artist in residence at the Fish Factory Creative Center in Stöðvarfjörður, Iceland, these postcards use found materials including newspapers, sheet music, tourism guides, and pressed flowers. They also each contain a stave or Icelandic spell written in runes that relate to the content of the card. They record experiences I had in Iceland, from 24 hours of sunshine to the smell of a geothermal shower. Each postcard was sent to individuals from around the globe who signed up to receive mail via a blog documenting my time at the residency. The attached files are scans of the cards before being sent off. These postcards were selected for the 2018 STA 100.
