The Chicago Design Archive hosted our inaugural film screening event at Northeastern Illinois University's El Centro. The screening featured two acclaimed documentaries: Graphic Means and The New Bauhaus, shown simultaneously and back-to-back. Attendees explored the evolution of design—from the pre-digital era of graphic production, and the work of László Moholy-Nagy in Chicago’s design history.
After the screenings, guest filmmakers Briar Levit (Graphic Means) and Ashley Lukasik (The New Bauhaus) joined for a moderated panel discussion, offering behind-the-scenes insights and engaging directly with the audience.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this celebration of design on the silver screen!
