John Dylong
John Dylong, former Vice President of Marketing at Jack Wiess Associates, was responsible for client development and services. As an independent design consultant, John designed and produced marketing communications for numerous private companies and not-for profits: identity systems, fundraising materials, adverting, PSAs, annual reports, and strategic plans. His work has been recognized by American Trademarks, Los Angeles Art Directors and Linweave Paper.
In addition, John had an academic career as full-time professor in the Art & Design Department at Columbia College, Chicago. John created numerous design courses, developed and coordinated Columbia’s first Advertising Art Direction program and the department’s first internship program.
He has authored several popular culture books on history and creativity. John received his B.S. in Design, Institute of Design, IIT, an M.A. in the Social Sciences and Business, University of Chicago, and worked with Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi Ph.D. on the topic of creativity and visual psychology.
