DeForest Sackett
DeForest Sackett was art director of Walgreen Drug Stores, a pioneer in modern packaging, helping to revolutionize the appearance of products and the methods of merchandising them. In 1939 he started his own business and contributed to the volume of award winning pieces that brought recognition to Chicago as a leader of the design movement prior to World War II. Author of a monograph on theories of color organization and harmony, he now paints, sculpts and writes at his home in Fontana, Wisconsin. 27 Chicago Designer member: 1939-1955, Honorary Member 1975.
