The 2025 Chicago Design Archive Auction presented a one-night-only celebration of design history, creativity, and community. Attendees had a rare opportunity to own real-life pieces from the Archive, with work generously donated by a remarkable group of designers and institutions, including Philip Burton, Marcia Lausen, Jack Weiss, the Design Museum of Chicago, Carlos Segura, Nick Adam, Studio Malt, Judith Mayer, Cheri McIntyre, MAS Context, Jonathan Nesci, Vicki Matranga, and many others. The event celebrated the legacy and influence of the Chicago design community.

The auction took place at the newly opened National Public Housing Museum, housed in the last surviving building of the historic Jane Addams Homes at ABLA Homes. The evening featured a speaker lineup that included Carlos Segura, Judith Mayer, Marcia Lausen, and Philip Burton, each offering insights into their work and contributions. It was a memorable gathering that highlighted the power of design to preserve and share cultural history.
