Jill Shimabukuro

Jill Shimabukuro is an award winning book designer and Director of Design at the University of Chicago Press, where it has been her privilege to build a team of book designers whose work has earned international recognition for design excellence. Jill has taught and lectured on book design at universities, conferences, and workshops, and has served as a juror for several design competitions, including the AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers, Communication Arts Illustration, and the Society for Typographic Arts Archive show. Her work has been recognized by AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers, the Type Directors Club of New York, Communication Arts, the Society of Typographic Arts, the Association of American University Presses, Print Magazine Regional Design Annual, among others, and is part of the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum/AIGA Design Archives and Society of Typographic Arts/Chicago Design Archive. Most recently, Jill was named by New City one of the 50 most influential design professionals in Chicago.
